Greetings!
Every business is at risk, every day, of an event that causes business interruption. Something simple like the loss of air-conditioning on a hot July day forcing staff to leave the office or an unfortunate car accident wiping out power to the office are events that are common and can happen anytime of the year. In Florida, we tend to think that we need to prepare for Hurricanes and Tropical Storms, when really - it is much more likely that we are impacted by more common events (that can be just as serious).
As we move through our Business Continuity Series and work with businesses throughout the Gulf Coast of Florida, there are a few things we have learned that really stand out.
- Leadership - Boards of Directors, C-levels and Business Owners alike are all charged with ensuring the survival of their enterprises. Continuity of Operations is a responsibility that some struggle with. What is leadership's role in a crisis? We found this great piece that directly addresses the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for Leaders. While it is a few years old, (published in 2006), it is still very relevant and important to read. It's a leadership must read. Click here to download "Boardroom Briefing: Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery."
- Education - Business Continuity doesn't have to be digested in big bits. Many have requested that we keep providing small bits of valuable, quick and informative emails on BC know-hows. Over the next couple of weeks, you will see some focused and quickly digestible knowledge pieces come your way. They are not to be missed!
All past seminars and webinars are available on our website . Our series has evolved and our library of resources has expanded. You will see more in the coming weeks. In fac t, we will have our next Seminar event in late August. See upcoming emails with dates, times and new great speakers!
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
